Trucking Road Conditions

Click on any of the States to see road conditions or traveling weather from the official Department of Transportation web sites. Winter driving season is back and hazardous driving conditions exists throughout much of the Country. States that draw heavily on winter sports tourism have spent millions building informational pages to help drivers reach their destinations. Washington, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Vermont, California and Utah have outstanding pages devoted to road conditions and travel information for Winter Weather. These sites were updated December 11, 2006 and should be current. Most of the maps are interactive and provided by the individual State's Department of Transportation. However other States have chosen to let third party content providers such as 511 to keep their road condition maps updated. New Mexico road conditions are apparently a low priority for those running the State's DOT pages, as its links provided to the Federal Government have been down for more than a year. I have substituted another link for New Mexico. Those trying to get road condition information for ski trips into Taos or Angelfire, I would call before driving, as these highways will be affected by Winter weather. New Mexico has roads, I have driven on them this year, but good luck finding information regarding them online and if you do find email us so we can let the rest of the traveling public know. If you don't have the resources to provide updated travel conditions, I suggest using a third party, but with as much tourism as New Mexico draws, I would suggest it solve this issue promptly. Mississippi has built a nice Java driven Road Conditions Map, kudos to Mississippi and its website builders for getting it right. Maybe Florida will look at what Mississippi built and do like wise, in the meantime good luck trying to navigate Florida's road conditions page.
